Direct Securities Services (DSS) is a vital and dynamic business line within the Corporate Bank. Deutsche Bank is among the top three custody services providers on the market in terms of assets under custody and transactions. DSS services both domestic and cross border institutions in 32 markets globally by coupling Deutsche Bank’s resources as a global bank with its local expertise and know-how in the individual markets.
Deutsche Bank launched DSS in Hungary in 1999. The product and service model used in Hungary is based on local and global expertisethat was developed and is managed in-house with no outsourced or vendor-managed services. Deutsche Bank is focused on growth in the emerging markets, including Hungary, based on innovative product development and experience in servicing a diverse client base.

Strategy Our strategy for DSS is to focus on the provision of excellence in comprehensive domestic custody services, acting as an agent bank to institutional clients worldwide. Our mission is clearly to deliver this strategy operating in a close partnership with our clients and complement, rather than compete with, our customers' businesses. It is the Bank’s firm belief that state of the art systems, a high level of automation and the professionalism of staff are key differentiators to the success of our business. DSS Hungary provides top quality Client Management locally and additional client coverage across multiple time-zones for the resolution of client queries outside of regular DSS Hungary business hours. Clients will have local, regional and global relationship managers for the escalation of any issue. |
Services Direct Securities Services is responsible for safekeeping and settlement of domestic and foreign assets, processing of corporate actions and income receipts. The service offering was extended to include HUF Cash Clearing in 2001 and Remote Membership Clearing, for foreigners who become direct members of the Budapest Stock Exchange, in 2005. Our clients’ satisfaction is the means by which we gauge our success and the Global Custodian Agent Bank Survey represents our clients’ testimony in this respect. DSS Hungary has been Top Rated by Domestic Clients for the last five years (2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010) and Top Rated by Cross Border Clients in 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010, and Commended in 2005. Additionally, DSS Hungary received the award for “Best Agent Bank in Hungary” in 2006. |
