Disaster relief and recovery
Deutsche Bank and its employees are united in their support for the many thousands of people whose lives were upended by the recent natural disasters.
In response to Hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Maria, as well as the 7.1 magnitude earthquake in Mexico City, Deutsche Bank has put in place its Disaster Relief Matching Gifts program, lifting its 5 thousand dollar maximum. The bank is now matching up to an additional 5 thousand dollars per employee for donations made to charities responding to these disasters. Employees may select any tax-exempt organization that is actively delivering support to affected areas.
Deutsche Bank Americas Foundation is also working closely with employees in Houston, Jacksonville and Miami on a portfolio of grants that will support ongoing recovery efforts in these communities, particularly for their most vulnerable residents. The nonprofit organizations in this portfolio include BakerRipley and Feeding Northeast Florida, two longstanding partners with which employees regularly volunteer.
Deutsche Bank CEO John Cryan said, “I would like to thank everyone for their dedication to ensuring the safety of our colleagues... and for their desire to help those who need it most. We can take great pride in the compassion of our employees.”
