Metropolitan Opera Opening Night

Deutsche Bank is proud to be sponsoring the Metropolitan Opera’s Opening Night Gala for the 2012-13 season.

This is Deutsche Bank's twelfth year sponsoring the event, which will feature a new production of Donizetti’s comic opera L’Elisir d’Amore. Soprano Anna Netrebko stars in her second consecutive Met opening night as the beautiful landowner Adina, with Matthew Polenzani as Nemorino, the simple peasant who falls in love with her. Mariusz Kwiecien is the blustery sergeant Belcore and Ambrogio Maestri and Erwin Schrott share the role of Dulcamara, the peddler of the “love potion.”

L’Elisir d’Amore is directed by Tony Award winner Bartlett Sher, whose previous Met productions are Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Le Comte Ory, and Les Contes d’Hoffmann. Maurizio Benini will conduct the opening night performance.

Jacques Brand, Deutsche Bank's Global Head of Investment Banking Coverage and Advisory, will be hosting as Gala Corporate Chairman.

The performance will be transmitted live to multiple screens in Times Square and on Lincoln Center’s Josie Robertson Plaza, and broadcast live on Metropolitan Opera Radio on SIRIUS XM.
