Design with the Other 90%: Cities

“Design with the Other 90%: Cities,” the second in a series of themed exhibitions by Cooper-Hewitt that demonstrate how design can address the world’s most critical issues, opens Oct. 15 at the United Nations and runs through Jan. 9, 2012.

Deutsche Bank is delighted to be a sponsor of this exhibition, which will explore design solutions to the challenges created by rapid urban growth in informal settlements, commonly referred to as slums. The exhibition, organized by Cynthia E. Smith, the museum’s curator of socially responsible design, will feature more than 60 projects from 22 countries around the globe. Admission will be free of charge. Deutsche Bank is co-sponsoring with the Rockefeller Foundation a social finance competition that aims to help bring the most viable products to market.

For more information, read about the exhibition and contest in the Fall 2011 issue of Focus, the CSR Americas newsletter, or visit the Cooper-Hewitt website.
