Deutsche Bank has a long and proud history in South Africa. Having established a representative office more than 40 years ago in 1979, Deutsche Bank expanded its presence through the acquisition of leading local stockbroker Ivor Jones, Roy & Co in 1995 and subsequently opened a branch of Deutsche Bank AG in 1998.

Nowadays, Deutsche Bank is a fully integrated international business, offering its African client base Investment and Corporate banking as well as Wealth Management products and services in South Africa.

Deutsche Bank has two separate legal entities present in South Africa:

  1. Deutsche Bank AG Johannesburg Branch located at 2nd floor, North Towers, 140 West Street, 2196 Sandton-Johannesburg. This legal entity is focused on Corporate, institutional, governmental and agency clients providing corporate and investment banking services.
  2. Deutsche Bank (Suisse) SA, a Swiss licensed bank and authorized as a financial services provider (FSP) for the provision of Advice and Intermediary Services by the Financial Sector Conduct Authority of South Africa (FSCA) under registration no. 52190. Deutsche Bank Suisse SA is approved to operate a Representative Office by the Prudential Authority of the South African Reserve Bank (SARB). This legal entity is based at Place des Bergues 3, 1211, Geneva, Switzerland and focuses on Retail and Professional clients providing Wealth Management Services.
