• In 2024, we empowered 77,000 people including youth, children, women, and PWDs to reach their full potential

Education: Dedicated to empowering change

Bridging the education gap

We have partnered with Teach For India to provide children from low-income backgrounds with access to quality education. To further improve the learning outcomes of these children, we support bright individuals committed to becoming full-time teachers at under-resourced schools through the two-year Teach For India Fellowship.

Levelling the playing field

Together with Karunya Trust, we are working to create equitable opportunities for children and youth from the rag-picking community to help them fulfil their ambitions. They are supported through formal education, supplementary nutrition, healthcare and community engagement.

The engineering dream

While innumerable young women across India aspire to establish careers in engineering, many have faced long-standing hurdles – including gender inequality and societal pressures. Together with Smile Foundation, we launched the Deutsche Bank Engineering Scholarship and are supporting over 700 girls to pursue their engineering degrees.

Born-to-Be-Nutrition-for-Education.png

Nutrition for education

We joined hands with The Akshaya Patra Foundation to serve one nutritious midday meal per student on each school day, and in-turn assist their education by ensuring they stay in school. Additionally, we are supporting the construction and set up of their centralised kitchen in Pune that will serve daily mid-day meals to 25,000 children studying in government schools.

Empowering cancer survivors through Education

In collaboration with Tata Memorial Hospital, we are granting scholarships to children to continue their education after their recovery from cancer.

Our support aims to reduce the financial burden on their parents, help these children reintegrate into the education system and become self-reliant individuals.

Educational support for child cancer warriors

We work with CanKids KidsCan to support their Canshalas which are special schools that provide formal education and personalised learning plans for child cancer patients through the course of their treatment.

Integrating technology for better learning

Integrating technology for better learning

We have collaborated with Yuva Unstoppable to support 100 smart classrooms in government schools to improve student learning outcomes. The blended teaching model will enable teachers to integrate various ICT tools into their pedagogy and foster critical skills like logical thinking, precision, and problem-solving in students.

Skill development for youth

We have joined hands with Rubicon Foundation to support the skill development and placements of youth from Tier 2 and 3 colleges, who are in their final year of Engineering or Computer Science courses. The students also have access to career counselling, mock interviews and trainings in aptitude, soft skills and domain IT skills.

Empowering people with disabilities

Empowering People with Disabilities

We have partnered with Samarthanam Trust and are providing scholarships for People with Disabilities (PWDs) to pursue their higher studies in arts, commerce, science, engineering, nursing, physiotherapy, law and chartered accountancy. Through this project, the students will be able to complete their graduation in a field of their choice and will be provided with career guidance to help then gain meaningful employment.

Elevating the urban-ultra poor

We have partnered with Parinaam Foundation to help graduate 600 women, belonging to the urban ultra-poor community in Bengaluru, out of poverty. With a focus on financial inclusion and livelihood development, we help the women set up and operate bank accounts, access government welfare schemes, and find gainful employment.

Enabling financial independence

In collaboration with Om Creations, we support the development of skills and the creation of livelihood opportunities for women with Down Syndrome. The aim of our efforts is to help these inspiring women reduce their medicine intake and build a revenue stream for themselves.

Age is no bar for education

Many youth are compelled to begin working at an early age, to help with household finances, at the expense of their education. In collaboration with Masoom, we are supporting the operations of night-schools and evening learning centres, as well as fees for short-term skilling courses to encourage working women, youth and adults to complete their formal education.

In-the-Community-Equality-in-Employement-and-Society.png

Equality, in employment and society

We promote diversity, equity and inclusion within the organisation and the community in which we operate. In early 2023, we partnered with the Rotary Club of Bombay to set up Mumbai's first salon which is run by members from the LGBTQIA+ community. Each member is provided with the training required to manage the business and we continue to provide support for the operations of the salon.

Made-for-Good-Women-in-Business.png

Women in business

Women belonging to low-income communities across India often lack access to equal employment opportunities. Together with Self Employed Women’s Association (SEWA), we help women from marginalised communities build cooperative societies engaged in agriculture-allied, baking and stationery businesses. This dignified employment provides the women with an additional income stream which improves their standard of living and helps them become financially independent.

Serving pride and purpose

Serving pride and purpose

In partnership with GAURAV we have set up a Trans-café in Pune which will employ members of the transgender community, offering them the chance to develop skills and contribute meaningfully to the local economy. The initiative will also serve a greater purpose through outreach programmes and by providing subsidized meals to underserved members within the LGBTQIA+ community.
